Career Opportunities

  • Architectural Staff Level I

    Location: Onsite in Tallahassee, FL

    Schedule: Monday - Friday, day shift

    Compensation: Annual salary of $50,000 - $70,000 + comprehensive benefits package

    Summary of Qualifications:

    • Some architectural education completed or industry experience (degree not required)
    • Experience and basic proficiency with at least one 3D modeling or drafting program (Archicad, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD)
    • Ability to commute to our Tallahassee-based office during the week.

    About Us:

    Architects Lewis + Whitlock (ALW) is a regional award-winning architectural, planning, and interior design studio based in Tallahassee, Florida. In our practice, we find opportunities for architecture and design to connect people, culture, and the environment. We are a collaborative studio where each team member contributes to various projects - whether led by themselves or others. Our firm has fewer than 20 employees, allowing us to be nimble and quickly adjust in a constantly evolving industry. We are excited to have a position open to join our team in Tallahassee.

    About Architectural Staff Level I:

    You will support a highly motivated group of designers and architects on various architectural projects, including higher education, office & commercial building projects, community and campus planning, multi-family housing, and custom-designed residences. Your role is to understand and develop project goals and contribute to the project team – and our client's success.

    • Essential Functions of the Architectural Staff Level I
    • Prepare design drawings, diagrams, digital sketches, renderings, and other visual tools to help communicate project ideas.
    • Develop the skills to complete and present code, material, or context research and analyses.
    • Assist with construction documents, check shop drawings, and complete field inspections and reports.
    • Take notes, file, and support digital organizational systems.
    • Possess and develop a basic knowledge of construction, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering systems.
    • Make meaningful contributions to the team to achieve project goals.

    Requirements

    We think you'll succeed in this position if you:

    • Have completed some college-level architecture courses (degree not required)
    • Are comfortable with at least one 3D modeling or drafting program (Archicad, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc.)
    • Possess strong time management and project organizational skills.
    • Can participate in and lead group discussions with team members, co-workers, clients, and consultants from various backgrounds.
    • Have experience in Adobe Creative Suite (preferred, not required).
    • Can commute to our Tallahassee-based office during the week.
