Sarah Ashcroft

Sarah Ashcroft brings a passion for creating research-backed, emotionally resonant spaces to her role as an interior designer at Architects Lewis + Whitlock (ALW). She has contributed to a wide range of projects across the Southeast, with a focus on higher education, healthcare, and hospitality design. Sarah’s bold, original approach is grounded in empathy and insight, drawing inspiration from materials, context, and the unique needs of each user. She believes design succeeds only when aesthetics and function work hand in hand: “If a space doesn’t meet the needs of the user, it’s an unsuccessful design, no matter how great it looks.”

Her work reflects a balance of beauty, purpose, and inclusiveness. She led the design for the Thomasville National Bank Main Branch, introducing custom millwork and refined finish palettes now adopted across multiple branches. She also played a key role in research and design for the Refuge House Dawn of Hope Family Center, a neurodivergent-friendly shelter that thoughtfully supports individuals fleeing domestic violence. Across her projects, Sarah’s designs foster environments that are both visually compelling and deeply attuned to the people they serve.
