A Multi-Phase Transformation for Student Success

The Griffin Middle School Campus Master Plan is a transformative, multi-phase redevelopment project that is reimagining the campus through the replacement of aging facilities with modern, student-centered learning environments. Located in Tallahassee, Florida, the master plan includes the construction of a new cafetorium, gymnasium, classroom building, and supporting campus infrastructure, all delivered in carefully planned phases that allow the school to remain operational throughout construction. Designed to enhance safety, functionality, and the student experience, the project reflects ALW’s commitment to creating educational environments that serve both current needs and future generations while supporting Leon County Schools’ vision for a welcoming, high-performing campus.

Construction

Phase I – New Cafetorium:
includes the demolition of existing Buildings 2 and 4 and the construction of a new cafetorium, chiller plant, boiler room and adjacent parking lot. The program of 17,800 gsf for the Cafetorium will provide a 336 seat multi-purpose dining space, stage, dressing rooms, teachers’ lounge, accessible restrooms, custodial receiving and a state-of-the-art full- service kitchen.

Phase II – New Gymnasium:
consists of a new +/- 23,000 gsf gym with locker rooms, stage, band room, multipurpose room, lobby, and demolition of Buildings 9 and 10, chiller plant, voice evacuation improvements in Building 15, and related site improvements.
