Connecting Workplace Operations Through a Unified Identity

Located at 1136 Thomasville Road in the core of Midtown Tallahassee, Redwire Security’s headquarters supports a locally based company that has provided electronic security services for nearly four decades. ALW led the phased renovation and expansion of two existing office buildings as Redwire transitioned from the Sonitrol identity. The project translated the company’s rebrand into a contemporary workplace while establishing a more visible and recognizable presence within the Midtown district.

The two buildings previously operated as separate facilities with limited visual continuity, indirect circulation, and no clearly defined shared entrance. ALW introduced a new 1,200-square-foot, two-story lobby and atrium between the structures to create a unified public entry and central point of orientation. A new elevator and stair provide accessible vertical circulation and direct connections between departments, allowing the addition to function as both the architectural centerpiece and primary circulation hub for the headquarters.

Redwire Headquarters, Tallahassee, FL

The project unified two existing buildings into a connected headquarters that strengthens Redwire’s identity, improves departmental relationships, and provides flexible space for continued operational growth.

Phase I included a partial renovation of one building and a complete interior renovation of the second. The workplace was reorganized around an open, flexible office plan supported by private offices, meeting rooms, collaboration areas, and shared support spaces.

Clear circulation and carefully planned departmental adjacencies improve communication between staff while allowing work areas to adapt as staffing, technology, and operational requirements change.

Phase II completed the remaining support spaces, including employee break areas, restrooms, and central operations. Redwire’s work includes the monitoring and coordination of verified intrusion alarms, video surveillance, access control, and fire-alarm systems for commercial, institutional, governmental, and residential clients.

The renovated facility provides a stable and reliable setting for these daily critical operations, with clear relationships between administrative, technical, and operational teams and the infrastructure needed to support continued service.

The investment renewed a prominent Thomasville Road property and brought new architectural definition and daily activity to the core of Midtown. Rather than relocating to a peripheral site, Redwire reinvested in its established headquarters and strengthened its connection to the surrounding district.

The completed campus unifies the company’s workplace, public identity, and operational functions while contributing to the continued revitalization of one of Tallahassee’s most active urban neighborhoods.
