Bracey Square Redevelopment

Bracey Square will be located in Historic Downtown Thomasville, Georgia. The site consists of a one-story, historic masonry structure composed of rough sawn wood floor joists, wood roof trusses fabricated on site, and brick veneer. The building is currently unoccupied and under selective demolition. The renovation of the building is intended to recapture proportions of the historic structure, while embracing the historic context’s scale, materiality, and proportions for all new structures on the site. Also on the site are a few deteriorated structures and a pre-engineered metal building housing an active tenant. The structures and their contents will be analyzed and selectively removed as necessary. Phase One will provide 29 new residential units with parking, while Phase Two will consist of commercial space with a courtyard/lawn shared between commercial spaces and accessible to residential units.
